Alejandro Cavazos, DDF, FAGD

Teachers can be some of the most influential people in our lives. A high school dental assisting teacher first introduced Dr. Cavazos to the possibility of changing people’s lives in a way he had never thought of before—your smile.  Her passion of taking care of the person in the chair has remained steadfast in him throughout the years, and it is this same desire that drives Dr. Cavazos to be the best dentist he can be everyday of his career.
Dr. Cavazos feels blessed to be able to serve the people in San Antonio and the surrounding areas.  When he is not practicing dentistry, he enjoys RV camping with his wife and three children.  They enjoy the outdoors any chance they can, and fishing and kayaking are always in the conversation.
With the help of his talented and dedicated staff, the Stone Ridge family/team would be honored to be a part of maintaining your healthy smile for many years to come.
Dr. Cavazos is the first in his family to graduate from college.  He received his Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2001 from the University of Chicago.  He then moved back to Texas and joined Teach for America, a corps of teachers working in underserved areas of our country.  He taught high school science for five years.  During this time, Dr. Cavazos earned a Master of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas Pan American in 2006.

In 2010, Dr. Cavazos graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental School and then continued to complete a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program.  He was honored to be nominated as Resident of the Year in 2011.   He joined private practice as an associate in various offices in San Antonio and continued sharpening his skills as a clinician.  He earned his Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2016—a prestigious achievement that less than 5% of all general dentists obtain.  Over the years of education and professional continued education, he has gained extensive training in dental implants, oral surgery, periodontics, dental bridges, dentures and is certified to perform IV conscious sedation. Thanks to his involvement with the Academy of Sports Dentistry, he is trained in the recognition, prevention and management of sports related dental trauma.  Ask us how we can protect you and/or your child from sports related injuries.
